Jack Dorsey, one of the founders of Twitter. Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams and Biz Stone founded Twitter in 2006. Before that, he was a programmer. Twitter was co founded by Evan Williams and others. Williams created the Blogger content publishing platform in 1999, which was later acquired by Google. After selling Blogger, Williams once founded a startup company called Odeo, but it did not succeed in the market. Then Jack Dorsey, an employee of Williams, proposed the idea of creating a microblog, which is the origin of Twitter.

Twitter was originally a research project of Odeo, led by Noah Glass and Jack Dorsey, and was launched in March 2006. The Twitter development team won the 2007 South by Southwest Internet Blog Award. After winning the prize, he received different media reports, including the Wall Street Journal. Twitter is written in Ruby on Rails. Then, due to the expansion of the service scale, it turned to Scala language.

On October 5, 2015, according to the documents submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by Twitter, the company's co-founder Jack Dorsey was appointed as the official CEO.

In November 2021, Twitter announced Jack Dorsey's resignation as CEO.
